The Great, The Good, and The Ugly
Wordpress 2.1.1 has been out and about for about a week now. I’ve seen mostly satisfied users. Processes have been streamlined: great. Bugs have been pared down: good. And on to the tiny ugly: breakable widgets. A nice feature has been added that deactivates any plug-in that will break a site. This is a nice courtesy, but I’ve noticed a lot more of the staple widgets breaking such as Recent Posts.Bundling widgets into one handy includes file was great for most people — especially widget novices. As a matter of personal preference, I preferred to have my widgets were they were.I’m willing to take the tiny uglies that go along with the goods and the greats in confidence that Wordpress will continue to evolve in a positive direction with loyal programmers patching all the way.
